Larson Electronics has announced the release of a 50-watt explosion proof solar panel with pole mount clamp. This high-output module is designed for solar-powered systems in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations. This 12V unit comes with 36 crystalline silicon cells and an IP65-rated junction box.
The HAL-PM-SPNL-50 explosion proof pole clamp mounted solar panel is 50 watts and operates on 12V with a module efficiency rate of 11.1 percent. This unit offers 17.9V and a current of 2.79 amps at maximum power. This unit is rated for use in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations and features a Class C application class. This module comes with an 8A maximum fuse rating and weighs just 13.2 lbs.
Larson Electronics’ explosion proof solar panel features a frame made of silver anodized aluminum with a back cover made of white polyester for insulation. The front cover is made of high-transmission glass that is 1/8” thick. Four terminal screw connection blocks are available and can accept 8-14 AWG wires. This unit features a pole clamp mounting system allowing the solar panel to be securely mounted to vertical poles or pipes of different diameters.
Each solar panel has two clamps and once mounted the unit can hold at a 45˚ angle from the pipe or pole it is mounted to. Suitable applications include hazardous locations, chemical processing plants, solar-powered systems, refineries, and more.
