Larson Electronics has announced the release of an explosion-proof power distribution box that allows for safe disconnection of power in hazardous areas. This unit comes with a 3-pole disconnect/isolator switch and is rated 400V AC three-phase 50Hz at 40 amps (max). This unit carries an IP66 rating and is made of copper-free aluminum with stainless steel parts.
The EPPB-TWI-MOD7 explosion-proof power distribution box with isolator switch is rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups B, C and D; Class I, Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIB+H2 and IIA; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F and G; and Class III, Divisions 1 and 2 hazardous locations. This power distribution box is a 3-pole isolator rated 400V AC three-phase 50Hz at 40 amps max. This unit is housed in a copper-free aluminum enclosure with a powder-coated finish for added durability.
Larson Electronics’ explosion-proof power distribution box features din rail mounted individual terminal blocks for incoming wiring up to 10mm, to be connected to the blocks. Line-out of the terminal blocks can also be connected to the 40-amp circuit breaker via individual terminal blocks. This unit carries a NEMA 3, 4 and 4X rating, as well as an IP66 rating for use in harsh environments.
The breather and nameplate on this unit are made of 316 stainless steel. This unit can be mounted using a durable rail mounting plate. Suitable applications include hazardous locations, electrical isolation, electrical disconnection, maintenance, and more.
