Cast Aluminum Solutions (CAS) – a leading supplier of industrial heating devices for specialized chemical and water processing applications – is very pleased to announce the launch of the new “CAST-X High Temperature Heater” line.
CAST-X High Temp Heaters feature operating temps to 1,110°F (600°C).
Very few industrial heaters feature operating temperatures in this range. And CAST-X High Temp is compatible with heating flammable liquids and gases: another rare design feature.
CAST-X High Temp can safely heat solvents, IPA (isopropyl alcohol), disinfecting agents, acetone, pentane, ammonia, and other low-flashpoint liquids. Process gases such as nitrogen, argon, CO and CO2 are also well-suited for these heaters, even if they’re under high-pressure or in a cryogenic state. DI Water is also commonly heated using CAST-X Heaters, and if needed, steam can be generated.
CAST-X High Temp Heaters are an easily-integrated “inline heater”, with common flow-tube sizes, and compatibility with most worldwide voltages. They’re available in two primary sizes:
- CAST-X HT 500 has power to 1500 Watts, and a 1/4 inch OD fluid/gas flow-tube. They’re available with a Water Tight & Explosion Proof Terminal Enclosure (for hazardous locations) or with No Enclosure (for inert applications). Both have a very small footprint.
- CAST-X HT 2000 accommodates higher-flow applications. With power to 6 kW, and a 1/2 inch flow-tube, they are available with an Explosion-Proof or a Water-Resistant terminal enclosure.
CAST-X Heaters have a unique “no contact design”, where the heated media never contacts the heating elements. The design is much cleaner than standard immersion heaters, where the heated media contacts dirty heat elements. With CAST-X Heaters, heated media (liquid or gas) flows through a stainless steel or Inconel flow-tube, cast in the heater body, into which high-performance heat elements are also integrated. CAST-X is one of the cleanest heater designs on the market today.
Many of today’s advanced chemical reactions and catalytic transformation processes require higher than normal temperatures, and the new CAST-X High Temp Heater is designed to fit those thermal requirements. Multiple test labs are already using CAST-X HT 500 units, and several high-volume processing facilities have shown interest in the larger CAST-X HT 2000 models.
