Rittal has launched the new Rittal Configuration System, available through rittal.com. This new tool makes it easy to configure Rittal enclosures and accessories quickly and accurately.
The Rittal Configuration System encompasses Rittal’s enclosure product families including select freestanding, wallmount, and junction box enclosures. Users are able to select their enclosure from a set of filters; choosing by product family, by dimensions, by IP rating, or by a combination of filters. Users can then add doors, locks, mounting roof and walls, lighting, rails, cable management, fan units, heaters and other accessories to their design. Lastly, users are able to modify the enclosure with any needed holes and cut-outs for their application.
Available for free, the Rittal Configuration System offers error-free product and accessory configuration, allowing users to place accessories and cut outs in the proper places where they need them. The intelligent online tool will allow the user to only include appropriate accessories that may be used with the selected enclosure, removing the risk of design errors. The system allows users to import their own CAD data for creating modification elements in the project as well as permits viewing in a 3D CAD environment where the user can rotate, move and zoom in and out on the model.
“Configuring enclosures and accessories can be a complex process at times, but not with this new tool,” said Dean Arvanitis, director of marketing and product management at Rittal. “The Rittal Configuration System lets users of all design skill levels specify the enclosure and accessories that they need for their specific application without worrying about making errors.”
Configurations can be saved and downloaded or exported. Once a user has completed configurating the enclosure, a bill of materials for the project can be downloaded as a CSV or PDF file for ordering. In addition to exporting configuration for ordering, users can export configurations with assembly instructions as well as CAD models in DXF, STEP, and 3D PDF file formats, along with EPLAN Pro-Panel and NC program files.
The Rittal Configuration System acts as the complete enclosure configurator tool alongside Rittal’s other digital tools for configuration and selection.
