SONACA Montreal announced today the appointment of Paul Costanzo as its new CEO.
Previously serving as chief financial officer of SONACA’s Montreal facility, Costanzo will succeed Sylvain Bédard, who is retiring July 1. Costanzo will report directly to Bernard Delvaux, CEO for the SONACA Group in Belgium.
“His leadership and vision have helped position SONACA Montreal as a world leader in both the commercial and business aircraft markets,” said Delvaux. “The board of directors sincerely thanked Sylvain Bédard for the work accomplished during his term of office and his significant contribution to the development of the company while wishing him a long and happy retirement”, he added.
SONACA Montreal manufactures large aerospace aluminum structures for the aviation industry. Its core business involves the machining, surface treatment and assembly of wing panels for regional and business jets.
Located in Mirabel, Quebec, the company employs close to 300 people.
Costanzo joined SONACA Montreal in 2014. An accountant by training (Concordia University), he gained extensive experience in general and financial management in the aerospace field, notably at Bell Helicopter.
“I am certain he will put all his experience and energy to serve the best interest of SONACA Montreal. On behalf of the Board of Directors, we wish him our best congratulations and success in his new role”, said Delvaux.
Bédard retires after a long and successful career in the aerospace industry, having been instrumental in transforming SONACA Montreal’s product portfolio and improving the efficiency of its operations.
